In-use Test:
The Wraptank from Source is an insulated hydration pack - the bag is enclosed within an insulating cover and the drinking tube is similarly covered with insulating material.
You fill the hydration sac via a large filler cap on the front of the bag. Whilst it's not quite as easy to fill as the Widepac - it's pretty straightforward and it's still possible to add some ice-cubes if you really want your drink cold. And of course the whole point of the Wraptank is that it's insulated so cold drinks stay cold for some considerable time - certainly for the duration of my most recent Peak District walks. Although I've not yet had opportunity to use the Wrap Tank in prolonged sub-zero conditions, it will not doubt be useful to keep water liquid at this end of the temperature spectrum as well.
Aside from the insulation, the Wraptank boasts many of the features found in other hydration systems in this range. Its low profile design means that the space taken up in your backpack is reduced. The bite-valve plus dust cover continues to work well and I've never detected any taste from the sac/tube material. There's also a handy carrying-handle at the top.
It's pretty straight forward to remove the Wrap Tank's main bladder for cleaning from its insulating jacket. Not so the drinking tube (also encased in insulating material) - I've not yet worked out how to get this out - so I'm assuming that the Grunge-Guard™ technology (which I've found to be extremely effective in other Source products I've used) is doing it's usual good job ! A minor gripe is that the drinking tube itself is a little shorter than I'd prefer - but still quite usable.
Another impressive hydration system from Source, the Wraptank will appeal particularly to walkers or backpackers for whom space is at premium and who need to keep their drinks at an optimum temperature whatever the weather conditions.

• These aqua packs are great I have had one for the past year and been out in cold or hot weather and it keeps mildly warm (not boiling as it melts the inner) drinks warm and cold drinks cool. Think the mouth piece needs work - not as good as a Platypus but the cover is a great asset because we are always putting rucksacks down and the mouthpiece gets covered in sand and other objects.
