In-use Test:
We tested both the Micro 250 and the Micro 800 versions and were very impressed. They provide a very secure and stable platform on which to position your camera and yet are far more lightweight than a traditional mini-tripod. Both are perfect for keeping your camera still when taking short digital movies or for capturing self-portraits on top of hills and mountains when there is no-one else around.
When not screwed to the bottom of your camera, the GorillaPod Micro folds up for easy storage in your pocket or the top of your rucsac.
Our only gripe was that there is no adjustment facility so you do need a flat surface on which to place your camera (for that see the Joby Photo Inc GorillaPod Hybrid).
Lightweight and compact - ideal for capturing that perfect picture of you and your friends when there is no-one else around or taking short movies for uploading to YouTube.
