Features to Note:

In-use Test:

This is like a kids non-spill cup - but for adults (why should kids get all the best stuff?). The lid has a syphon running down to the bottom of the bottle. You simply open on the bite-valve at the top of the syphon with your teeth and suck to get at the liquid inside the bottle. This means you do not have to tip the bottle up to get at the contents - and unless you bite on the valve none of the contents can escape making it totally spill-proof - even if you hold it upside down.

Buying Advice:

This sounds like a an expensive luxury - but it is our favourite bit of kit at the moment. Having a spill-proof bottle next to your computer keyboard has obvious advantages.

Being able to drink water in the car without tipping the bottle up obscuring your vision is a great safety feature (it fits neatly into the cup holders in my car) and the non-spill feature not only saved our precious water supply when camping but stopped any water spillages inside the tent - particularly when fumbling for a drink in the middle of the night.

Whilst this is not a product for taking with you when you go out walking or hiking (Camelbak do many much more suitable products for rehydration on the go) it is perfect for the car, campsite or at your work station.

• I used this bottle on the west highland way recently and found it performed perfectly well .
