In-use Test:
The Raystar from Osram is a neat, very compact torch (it's ca 110cms long so just about fits in the palm of your hand) with a soft feeling, easy-to-grip cover. It did indeed charge up in about 3 hours and in use produces a good, clear light.
A very minor gripe is that there aren't any batteries so the only method of charging is via the USB connector - but this does means that it's possible to charge it up in the car as well.
Raystar's Osram is a neat, handy and very compact torch - ideal to keep in your backpack 'just-in-case' or by your side at night when camping.
