I am a Female Walker, in my early 70s, based near North Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I enjoy walking in the hills and wild places. I'm easy going and have a soh - semi-retired so can walk in the week as well as at week-ends. I usually walk with groups, friends or alone to practice navigation (which I am reasonable at). I am a reasonably fit 'plodder' and hillwalking is my main interest - but its always better to share adventures with likeminded others. I moved to the Yorkshire dales eight years ago and am enjoying having some great walking on the doorstep. I'm seeking walking buddies who are interested in doing long distance paths eg. South west coast path and/or hillwalking in the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, Northumberland or Scotland. I'm used to driving to walk locations.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 3:4:5:6:7:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Preston hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, my name is Ray and I'm a fit and active 65yr old male living near Preston. I'm a very keen walker and will go anywhere within 100 miles for day walks or anywhere in the UK for weekends away/short breaks. I'm hoping to meet a lady between the ages of 45-65 for friendship initially and if the chemistry is right between us then hopefully we can become more than good friends. I'm looking for someone who enjoys walking and a good chat and a laugh and maybe have a drink/evening meal at a nice country pub/restaurant afterwards. My other hobby is playing golf and I'm a member of Fairhaven golf club near Lytham. As I'm retired, I'm free to go walking at anytime. Almost 3 years ago I set myself a challenge to go walking in every county in England, Scotland, Wales and several islands dotted around the UK. So far I've done 44 out of 94 and hope to do quite a lot more this year. Last year I had holidays in Tuscany and Lake Garda which were very enjoyable. If you are interested, why not get in touch and we can chat with a view to meeting up.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Bakewell hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Currently test driving my new hip (installed in September '25) so less time trials and peak bagging for now. Hence, seeking a co-driver/navigator for 5-10 mile hikes to start with, with a view to more challenging outings in due course.

Based in the Peak District, separated, centre-left, pragmatic and omnivorous. With a background in marine sciences, I've lived and worked around the world. Hence I used to ski, climb and hike in the Alps and Cascades. These days I just hike, mainly in the Peak District and Snowdonia but would like to go further afield both in the UK (including coastal paths) and abroad. Would also love to get back on skis, a boat and maybe even a horse! A good pub at the end of the day is always welcome!

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Exeter hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello!
It's really nice to think there are others who share a love of connecting with the natural world. In recent years, I have done several long distance walks over 2-6 weeks. One of the reasons I love long distance walking and wild camping is that it allows the freedom to walk as long as it's enjoyable and safe, rather than having to reach a particular point on the map each day. I generally walk about 10 miles a day depending on the terrain, and make it possible with a mix of wild and tame camping. Obviously, it's a joy to be able to stay in a hostel or B&B when possible.
Over the last year, I haven't been for an adventure because I've had a Ukrainian family living with me. They now have their own home so I'm ready to walk again.🥾 Normally I walk alone and enjoy the peace and stillness that lone walking brings. I'm now beginning to think that it would be sensible to have a walking partner.
Quite recently I have been widowed and am now looking to embrace life and all the good things it has to offer. I work part time and my hours are flexible, making it quite easy to go for a walk. I would love to hear from you if your love of walking in wild places resonates with mine.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 3:4:5:6:7:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; North East England; North West England; The English Midlands; Wales; The Heart of England; South East England; South West England; Connacht, Ireland; Leinster (Laighin), Ireland;

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

My Message: Hi, I used to do a lot of walking (Cairngorms etc. ) in my youth so keen to 'gradually' get back into some more serious stuff in the Southwest, Dartmoor and the coast.
