Jake and Nayns Naanster
Product Review & Walking Gear Test

Jake and Nayns says:"We're two brothers who just love great food, born from the childhood memories of being surrounded by beautiful and delicious food prepared by our Mum.
Having madly busy lifestyles and out on the go, we could never find anything that matched up to the tasty food from home. So a quest was born, one where we attempted to marry the vibrancy of street food with the convenience of a handheld snack. It was then that Jake and Nayns' was born.
In November 2018, we were crowned Family-Owned Business of the Year Award at Amazon Growing Business Awards.
Managing director Jake Karia said: "To be recognised by Amazon and other commercial giants at these awards is truly humbling. Here at Food Attraction, family is so important to us. We undoubtedly believe the togetherness we possess contributes to our success, and enhances our brand. We are immensely proud of this award, which will aid in our mission to keep on growing as a business.""
In-use Test:
Jake & Nayns' Naansters are a range of on-the-go filled Naans that can be served either hot or cold. There is a choice three different meat fillings: Beef Madras, Balti Chicken and Chicken Tikka and one vegetarian option, Chickpea Curry.
We tried all four flavours in the range, both hot and cold and can definitely report that they are very tasty indeed. The naan bread is nice and thick and filled to the brim with the meat, rice, curry sauce and mango chutney without leaving any air gaps. The thickness of the naan also meant I could eat it with just one hand, without any danger of it falling apart. I like curries and hot spicy food (to a point) and can report that none of Jake & Nayns' Naansters are too hot - even the Beef Madras. They were just full of flavour and delicious.
To serve them hot, we simply put each Naanster & its outer packaging into a 800W Microwave oven for 90 seconds and let stand for a minute.
As an alternative to traditional sandwiches, pies and pasties Jake & Nayns' Naansters are an ideal choice for your lunchbox. Each one comes in its own paper packaging with a plastic film inner layer and a cardboard insert for support. They are robust enough not to get too squished out of shape in your rucksack. However, the logo on the back states that only the card insert can be recycled.
Jake & Nayns' Naanster does boast a no 'red traffic light' nutritional policy, meaning each 185g serving falls within the recommended daily intake of fat, saturates, sugar and salt.
Each Jake & Nayns' Naanster does have a relatively short shelf-life, the samples we received needed to be consumed within 7 days, but this is longer than most traditional, bread based, hill food lunch options. They are not suitable for freezing and must be kept in the fridge so are only really suitable for eating the same day if you are out and about.
