Tiso to run Raichle 'Base Camp try before you buy' scheme
Tiso is to launch the Raichle “Base Camp try before you buy scheme” at its Glasgow and Edinburgh Outdoor Experience stores.
Raichle's scheme allows customers to try out Raichle footwear from a select 7-strong range before forking out. A satisfied customer can expect their hire charge to be reimbursed upon purchase of a pair of Raichle boots.
Louise Ramsay, Head of Marketingxx at Tiso said “We already have a hire scheme so incorporating the Raichle boots into that is very straightforward. The added bonus for our customers is that they can have that hire charge reimbursed upon purchase of thata Raichle boot. At Tiso, we constantly aim to offer the highest level of customer service in our shops, so this scheme further reinforces our commitment to that”.That's a pretty good deal in my book”.
With the Edinburgh store located near the Pentlands and the Glasgow store taking advantage of Loch Lomond National Park customers of the hire scheme can subject their Raichle boots to plenty testing.
David George of Outdoor Elements, distributor of Raichle boots says: “We supply many top notch specialist boot fitters around the country and they do an excellent job. Some of our customers would like the opportunity to try out mountaineering boots before making the purchase and it's these people that we are targeting. Selecting specialist shops at key locations in the UK seemed an ideal launch-pad for our pilot scheme”.
The high quality boot brand launched the scheme in February and partnered up with two leading independent boot specialists at key mountaineering locations: V12 in Snowdonia and West Coast in Fort William. The two retailers benefited from over £6,500 worth of advertising and PR activity to help push the initiative to the end-consumer.
The Base Camp try before you buy initiative is already active in Snowdon and Fort William and Tiso will launch the scheme in their Edinburgh and Glasgow Outdoor Experience stores this March. The scheme will continue to be supported by ads placed in key outdoor publications. Customers will be able to choose to hire a pair of Raichle mountaineering boots from a six strong collection ranging in price from £130 - £700. Unusually half sizes are available and customers are advised to ring the shops ahead of time to ensure that the boot style and size they need is reserved for them.
Should the Base Camp try before you buy scheme be successful it will be rolled out to other outdoor retailers who have or are interested in operating a hire scheme and they will benefit from marketing support such as ads, PR and Raichle website exposure.
