Páramo unveil their collection for Spring/Summer

Weighing only 290 g., this new Smock can be compressed to the size of a grapefruit, with no ill-effects! Made from Nikwax Windproof ® fabric, it is ideal for a huge range of activities such as biking, climbing, running, hill walking, scrambling, adventure racing and many more….

Nikwax Windproof ® is a unique Directional fabric that is tough and highly functional: it does not degrade, the fabric has rapid drying times, and when treated with Nikwax Aftercare, its performance is indefinitely renewable.

Greg Care, head of design at Páramo and a mountain instructor for more than 30 years, comments about the process of designing it: “Windproof garments have generally been neglected and undervalued, with the trend for extreme lightweight and low price points resulting in poor durability, limited features and restricted performance especially with the onset of foul weather or rough use. So we aimed to come up with a sturdy, durable product with intelligent features that would be highly functional in all circumstances. The garment must remain reliable enough, even with the onset of bad weather, to enable the wearer to complete their activity safely.”

The multiple and distinctive benefits to the user such as contoured, anatomic cut with scooped tail, adjustable cuffs, double generous chest pocket, articulated arms and elbows, adaptable head protection and reflective strip, make the Fuera Windproof Smock a real innovation and excellent value for money in the market of windproofs. Greg adds: “We viewed combination with the Mountain Pull On and our reversible Cambia T-shirts as a key element in the design. The garments needed to be highly compatible, with the shoulder and arm cut equally sophisticated at the elbow and underarm.”
