The Masters have arrived
Foot Logic, the specialist footwear division of Mountain Sports Ltd, has added a new product range to its portfolio of outdoor brands.
Scientific calculations and tests prove that the use of telescopic poles significantly reduces stress, impact and wear on bone joints. Using trekking poles to ascend or descend steep slopes greatly benefits knee and ankle joints as well as taking weight away from the spine.
Unique to Masters is the patented Kompressor® Antishock System that allows users to easily lock or unlock the antishock device depending on different types of terrain. Kompressor technology reduces weight without affecting or sacrificing the long-term durability of the pole. The antishock system contained inside the handle is easily locked in position or unlocked by simply twisting the handle grip to absorb the impact of hard ground when descending steep terrain.
Due to the unique design of the Kompressor system and unlike some other competitors, there is no risk of turning the system on or off when adjusting pole length. The Kompressor name has been licensed to Masters by Mercedes Benz as the Kompressor label is used extensively throughout the vehicle range to badge its different sports models.
Technical innovation doesn't stop there with the Super Blocking System (SBS) as used in the top specification poles and allows fast and secure length adjustment. The SBS blocking system reaches the highest performances or resistance ever tested in all types of atmospheric conditions and the unique double expander tested to minus 50°C ensures that the expander is not lost during length adjustment.
Further innovations include the patented Replacement Basket System (RBS) that enables the basket and patented steel carbide tip to be replaced easily and quickly without the need for any special tools. The small basket and short tip can be used for trekking, during spring and summer and the large basket with a long tip is used in snow.
In the face of stiff opposition from it's competitors, the Masters Kompressor pole has already been voted ‘Best Buy' in the USA by Backpacker magazine.
