Silva raises funds for Mountain Rescue Council
The photographic 'Rogues Gallery' was a great success on the Silva stand at the recent Go Outdoors trade show.
To celebrate the launch of Silva's new M series of headlamps visitors to the stand had their photograph taken modeling one of the latest headlamps.
The promotion was aimed at raising funds for the Mountain Rescue Council and each visitor invited to make a donation of 50p with Silva matching the equivalent amount raised with equipment. A total of £230 was raised on the stand with a cheque going to assist the activities of the Mountain Rescue Council.
Both Polaroid cameras were awarded to the individual retailers who appeared in the funniest or most unusual photograph. Will Rayner of Brian Park Camping, Ipswich and John Dix of Hi-Peak Leisure, Stoke on Trent won the latest model of instant cameras kindly donated by Polaroid (UK) Ltd.
Commenting on the fund raising initiative, Silva's Managing Director Tony Kent said, "We recognise that Mountain Rescue Teams do a valuable job in assisting members of the public that get into difficulty or are injured in the outdoors. As an outdoor company, I'm pleased that Silva is able to make a small contribution to help fund their activities and grateful to Polaroid for their generous support."
