Force 10 Sponsors Orienteering Event
Force Ten, suppliers of high performance tents, rucsacs and sleeping bags is delighted to be sponsoring this years Long O Orienteering event.
Now in its 11th year, The Force Ten (Phoenix) Long O is a two-day long distance competition-taking place in the picturesque setting of the Cheviot Hills, Northumberland.
Taking place from Saturday 21st to Sunday 22nd August 2005, the event is open to competitors of differing abilities, from those who wish to take on the challenge of the demanding 50km course to those who wish to compete on the 18km course. The event is organised by Newcastle and Tyneside Orienteering and attracts competitors from all over the UK.
The Long O event differs from traditional orienteering events as it includes a greater distance to be covered and a higher ascent to be climbed during the course.
Force Ten recently supported Britain's leading mountaineer, Alan Hinkes, during his world record climb of Kangchenjunga, the first Briton to summit all 14 of the world's 8000m plus peaks. Force Ten has a long association with supplying kit to thousands of mountaineering expeditions.
