In-use Test:
Worn in a variety off Hiking and Scrambling environments these trousers proved to be very, very comfortable.
They are very light-weight and the fabric is extremely soft yet has come through several off-path expeditions through brambles without any obvious deterioration in performance.
They provide good wind protection and dry very quickly - and of course, the fabric really does deal with moisture from perspiration very effectively.
The articulated knee design ensures unhampered movement, useful when scrambling, but neither the seat or the knees are reinforced - this may possibly reduce their durability.
Whilst the two-way 3/4 length side zips provide great flexibility in ventilation they cannot be 'converted to shorts'.
The overall fit is good, hugging the hips nicely and a good length length for me though long and short leg length versions are also available to suit.
The adjustable ankle cuff ensures a good fit over a walking boot, shoe or sandal. There are two good size hip pockets and each of these contains a smaller zipped 'secret' pocket inside.
Style wise, I probably wouldn't wear them anywhere other than out walking or a long plane journey but if you're looking for comfort, lightweight plus a high level of technical performance - then Páramo's Mayon Trousers are ideal.
Extremely comfortable lightweight fabric that deals with perspiration superbly. Can't convert to shorts and £60 may be a bit steep for some.
