In-use Test:
The Craghoppers Nosilife 3/4 trousers are extremely light weight and made from a fabric that feels really quite soft next to the skin. Sitting just under the waist, the fit was true to size and the trousers overall were extremely comfortable and easy to wear.
It was easy to convert the trousers to the capri length albeit having removed boots/shoes first. And also easy to get the legs back on - the right/left identifiers on lower legs are a great idea.
My personal preference when hill-walking is for trousers that sit closer to my waist. That having been said the freedom of movement in these was fine over stiles on the various lower level/country walks for which I wore the Nosi-s. The zip converter point was not at all noticeable when walking - in my experience this is so often not the case. I didn't think there was too much bagginess around the lower legs either.
There are two good size hand warmer pockets. There are also two zipped pockets at back. However the opening on each of these was too small to get my hands in easily so I tended not to just not use them. Finally there is one full size cargo style pocket with smaller one on the front - perhaps handy for lip balm or similar.
The trousers didn't repel rain but did certainly dry quickly. They've washed and dried easily too - and are just about wearable straight from the washing line.
A disappointment for me, though, was that the finish on the trousers was uncharacteristically (for Craghoppers) poor. There were a lot of loose threads which did leave me wondering if a seam or zip was going to open at some inopportune moment!
The Craghoppers 3/4 Nosi trousers are a good combination, flexible, lightweight travel/leisure/walking trousers. Although they are primarily a travel garment, they are also fine for lower level, summer walking but look for something more robust for higher level mountain walking. Do check the finish.
