In-use Test:

The material is very soft to touch, washes very well and dries quickly. I was really comfortable in the Asacha-s whilst travelling and doing a variety of low level walking in a southern German summer where temperatures were in the low 30s C. As you'd expect from Paramo, the build-up of wetness from perspiration just wasn't a problem. Also - despite the soft feel the fabric seemed undamaged even after the odd unplanned detour through hedgerow.

The fit was very good - I was wearing size 12, am 5'7" and these days!? am usually a pretty standard size 12. The lined waist-band doesn't stretch but the trousers do come with their own belt for a little additional flexibility in fit.

The freedom of movement when walking with or without poles was excellent - there's a slight vertical stretch in material.

Storage of mobile phones, keys, loose change etc was no problem. There are a plethora of various sized pockets front and back. Two back pockets plus a small one inside one of the cargos - are all zipped for additional security.

I've also been in the Asachas during a number of heavy rain storms - although there didn't appear to be any water repellancy in the fabric - they do dry very quickly - a 'must' for summer walking in the UK.

Finally - they are extremely easy to care for - ready to wear straight from the washing line!

Buying Advice:

These are a substantial, extremely comfortable and very practical pair of trousers - an excellent investment for both travel and leisure. /p>

Whilst I do prefer a full length trouser for walking if I'm likely to need full leg protection from insects, stinging nettles etc, where that's not a concern then these are a great option for low level summer walking. /p>

They are also perfect for higher energy activities such as nordic walking or cycling when the superb moisture management and cut of the Asachas comes into their own.
