
Peak Bagging The Lake District Central Fells
The Lake District Central Fells are enclosed by:
- Keswick to the North
- Derwent Water and Borrowdale to the West
- The Langdale Valley to the South
- Thirlmere, Grasmere and Ambleside to the East
The Central Fells is the subject of Book Three: A Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells by A. Wainwright. This book has a Blue Cover and an illustration of the summit of Helm Crag on the cover.
The area includes: Rydal Water, Grasmere, Great Langdale and Thirlmere as well as the peaks of High Raise, The Langdale Pikes, Helm Crag, Ulscarf, Ashness Fell and Loughrigg Fell.
