Christine Shepherd climbed Allen Crags on July 2nd, 2006 [from/via/route] Used walk c139 from Seatoller [with] Solo before leading a group on 15.7.06 when I led a group from St George's Church Leeds [weather] Hot & sunny - Bagged this peak again on 28.5.09 using walk c301. Although the day started brightly the summit was in mist & conditions deteriorated through the afternoon. Climbed for a fourth time on 9.8.23. In light cloud on this summit so no views. I was going to go on to climb Seathwaite Fell but I tripped an broke my wrist, again! Just walked straight down Grains Gill.

Ian Ashton bagged Allen Crags on April 29th, 2023 [with] Solo 17 miler

Tim Winn hiked Allen Crags on March 24th, 2023 [from/via/route] Seatoller [with] Barry, Paul, Roger, Andy and Dave [weather] Dry

John Tippins summited Allen Crags on October 27th, 2022 [from/via/route] From Seatoller - Second (or more) time I've done this. No recollection of previous date.

Richard Marchant conquered Allen Crags on July 13th, 2022 [from/via/route] Started out from Seathwaite up to Stockley Bridge & right then up to Greenhow Knott, from here I went straight South up through Aaron Crags on to Seathwaite Fell to Great Stack & Sprinkling Tarn then Esk Hause. From here up to Allen Crags & then ridge along to Glaramara on to Combe Head, East to Combe Door along to Rosthwaite Cam & finally Rosthwaite Fell (Bessy Boot) down to Seatoller & back along the road to Seathwaite & the car [with] On my Own [weather] Clear hot sunny day with little or no breeze.

Keith Redhead scaled Allen Crags on January 24th, 2022 [from/via/route] This is a lovely walk from Seatoller Borrowdale. The walk up to thornythwaite crag & Glarsmara is lovely as the path winds it's way through craggs. The last ascent involves a challenging 20 foot scramble. However the mist had descended & find the ridge walk over to Allen Craggs was really challenging. We relied on our compasses as the path was not marked amongst the rock field. This slowed us down & we descended into Borrowdale via Ruddy Gill wearing head torches in the dark. I have never done that before. [with] Hil Natasha Charlie [weather] Dry but misty & challenging

Stephanie Doyle walked up Allen Crags on September 18th, 2021 [from/via/route] Car park

Wayne Baxter climbed Allen Crags on August 16th, 2021 [from/via/route] From Seathwaite followed the path through farm to Stockley bridge. Around Greenhow Knott & pick up a faint path to Seathwaite Fell. Onto Sprinkling Tarn & up Great End. From Great End across to Allen Crags & then onto Glaramara. We picked up a path by Hind Gill (not recommended very steep & rocky). Back to Seathwaite farm [with] Sue, Steven and Bev [weather] Cloudy & some rain

Paul Talbot-Greaves bagged Allen Crags on July 29th, 2021 [from/via/route] Seatoller [with] Paul Drury and Andy Bailey [weather] Rain most of day. High winds & low cloud with poor visibility on tops. Difficult terrain & challenging navigation. Soaked...even boots on inside.

Chris Sheard hiked Allen Crags on July 12th, 2021 [from/via/route] Along from Glaramara [with] George [weather] Slight winds still sweaty, top clear - Nice top, with impressive views Lovely views to GG & across Esk Hause

Christina Lander summited Allen Crags on June 6th, 2021 [from/via/route] Seathwaite - Base Brown - Seathwaite Fell - Allen Crags - Seathwaite [with] Dick [weather] Some cloud but mostly a lovely, sunny day & very warm - During our holiday at Station House, Troutbeck, Penrith

Kevin Foster conquered Allen Crags on June 1st, 2021 [from/via/route] Seathwaite. [with] By myself. [weather] Sunny & Hot. - There were too many tops visited on this walk to give a full description of each one. The route of the walk roughly followed the Sty Head Tarn path via Stockley Bridge, then as the path levelled off a steep ascent up the flanks of Seathwaite Fell to reach Wainwright's Top, then the true summit (Main Top) followed by a subsidiary top (South Top). The route then went past Sprinkling Tarn & climbed to Esk Hause (not the true one) before turning left & climbing to the summit of Allen Crags. Numerous tops were then visited along the undulating & interesting ridge including Glaramara & Rosthwaite Fell before descending off the ridge by dropping left at Tarn at Leaves into the ravine of Rottenstone Gill (not as bad as it sounds!). On reaching the lane to Thorneythwaite another left turn down a tarmac road & across field paths eventually led me back to the car parked at Seathwaite. Another tiring but superb day in The Lakes. I do feel as though I am saving the best until last with these Western & Southern Fells?

Light wind. Very good views - Wise to ascend the gill to Seathwaite Fell, as difficult to spot access point from above. Lunch stop at shelter before Allen Crags & continuing to find the actual summit cairns amongst others placed on Red Beck Top & Glaramara. Confusion coming off Glaramara, as strayed off path & veering off to the east too early. Difficult descent of Hind Gill. Mountain rescue & Air rescue on Great End crags

Cross the bridge & bear SW up a clear path that eventually bears S beside Browney Gill to reach a junction of paths on the col. Turning left up to peak of Pike O' Blisco. Returning to col & up to Great Crag, skirting around on right to Crinkle Crag (South top) & along ridge to Crinkle Crags (North Top). Continued along ridge along the crinkle crags 4 & 5 & up to top of Bow Fell. continued along ridge dropping down to Ore Gap & continued up to top of Esk Pike. Continued down to Esk Hause & up Allen Crags. [with] With Mya my faithful 13 year old Patterdale Terrier.
