Ordnance Survey Maps for Garmin GPS units?
Q. I have heard that you wonderful folks at Garmin are producing new (fully detailed) 1,25.000 Ordnance Survey maps (Not Topographical) to install on your outdoor walking GPS units? If so, when will they be available? - Will they cover the same areas as your previous maps? - Will these maps download to all your MAP GPS models? My short list of your GPS units are: MAP60CSx, - MAP76CSx, - Oregon 400T or, Colorado 300. Will your new mapping be suitable for these units? Many thanks in advance for your reply, Bob

A. CTC magazine has recently reviewed digital mapping devices and one of them, Satmap Active 10 will take Ordnance Survey maps. It is not cheap but I'm interested in finding out what people's experience with this device is.

A. I have just bought the Oregon 400t and am looking at getting the Garmin GB Discoverer 25k maps on MicroSD cards, these are not cheap and at the moment are only for the national parks and some of the long distance footpaths but are listed as being in stock at a number of websites for around 110.00 GBP each

A. Hi, I phoned Garmin tech dept. They say these maps are not available yet [early April 2009]. So, my question is: what maps should we use in our Garmin GPS units? What maps do other hikers upload if they have Garmin GPS?? Thanks. Aubrey.
