In lovely intermittent sunshine walked the steep climb to Place fell summit. A strong south westerly wind made it feel cold on the top. Great views up the lake & east to High street & west to dove crag & Sheffield pike. This is a sure way to introduce anyone to Lakeland. [with] Hil Natasha Charlie [weather] Dry strong cold south westerly occasional bright sunshine

Richard Marchant summited Place Fell on December 21st, 2021 [from/via/route] Started the walk St Peter's Church in Martindale along Hallin Bank to Bridge End then climbed Sleet Fell to Low Moss on to Hart Crag & Place Fell. Then followed Steel Edge to Boredale House & up Stony Rigg to Angletarn Pikes. From here it was basically a ridge walk along Beda Fell & eventually to Beda Head. From here I dropped down to Christy Bridge & road back to the car at St Peter's Church. Then a quick up & back on Hallin Fell. [with] Solo [weather] Low level cloud down to 650m a very cold day but stayed dry although overcast all day.
