Handheld GPS For Hillwalking
Q. I'm looking to buy a simple GPS system for my hillwaking travels. All I'm looking for is it to give me co-ordinates to check against my map for my location as a form of back-up, nothing else. I use a map and compass. Can anyone advise a decent model to buy please, doesn't have to be anything fancy just waterproof & reliable and of course simple enough for an idiot to use. Looking at maybe £100 or so.

A. I use a Garmin Etrex 10. I download GPX Waypoints from this site and put them straight onto the Garmin unit via the USB Cable. Works really well.
