Garmin Basecamp, Birdseye and OS Map Refs
Q. Hi all, I have just moved up a few GPS mapping notches and picked up a GPSMAP62s, the device came with a South of England map and I have added a GB BirdsEye map. I am involved in Scouting and take part in an annual event where we map to various check points over a 24 hour period and the idea is that I can plug these into the BaseCamp software and then transfer them to my device, I have added BirdsEye over the route as well to enhance accordingly. What I am struggling with is creating the route on BaseCamp using the OS references, example of my refs are: SU 765968, SU776971, SU 778976, SU 761964, SP 818007 etc My aim was to add all of these, creating the track or route and then transferring it to the 62s - I assume I am doing something fundamentally wrong as when I search for a place on the software using these refs nothing comes up. Would very much appreciate any help with this as I am slowly losing the will to live, hoping that a genius can help me out . . .

A. I figured this out through trial and error but my problem is that when I key in the position coordinates into the Waypoint position data field in Basecamp the numbers in the field change from what I key in. Enventually I get the correct grid ref into the field by round about means. Any suggestions anybody?

A. Since submitting the question I have found that you need to create a waypoint anywhere and then update that waypoint info with the 10 digit grid reference you need to plot. Do this for the whole route and hey presto you can create a route for your Garmin to follow. Any other tips or advice most welcome as I am a complete newby.
