I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near York hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I'm on the lookout for new walking companions that share my passion for walking in the hills. I try to get out into the North York Moors or Dales as frequently as possible. Weekends in Snowdonia and Cumbria are always treasured. I'm trying to expand my general wildlife knowledge and have also started dabbling in some foraging. I usually manage to walk abroad once a year (the Julian Alps in Slovenia are my absolute favourite). Would love to hook up with like minded folk to share a walk or two so please get in touch. Thanks for reading
Patrick

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Skiing and/or Snowboarding
  • All Walking & Treking

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near East Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
Looking for a walking partner to enjoy the scenery. Love coastal/beach walks but also countryside. It is all about the views and vistas.

Quality not quantity …..I think about 7-10 miles is my limit for a day's walking.

A good walk and chat would be nice. Can do during the week as well as weekends.

Would like to do more hill walking as I live in a very flat area!

Main aim is to keep fit and get out into the fresh air.

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I prefer warm, dry & sunny weather but can cope with the odd shower. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Rotherham hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am looking to meet people who own boots and wellies and don't mind getting them covered in mud. I am happy to meet people of any age who shared a love of the outdoors and doesn't mind me stopping from time to time to take photographs.

The Peak District is on my doorstep, but have walked in areas including Wales, the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District, Assynt in Scotland. I have been up Ben Nevis, Snowdon, and Scafell Pike, but would happily walk there again.

I have done the three peaks in the Yorkshire Dales but over a couple of days.

I work full time in a college, but school holidays and weekends I am free. Evening walks are possible if they are local.

My level of fitness is good and improving, though that is a story to share during a walk.

I am a life member of English Heritage and the National Trust. As such I can visit such places with a guest. I love photography, history, wildlife etc. I would rather not talk about education or computing (Unless its for a good cause).

My walking aims are to look at amazing views, Camp in amazing places including a plot of land I can wild camp on in Scotland, and just enjoy it all.

If you are cold, wet, have been rained on all day and can still smile then anything is possible.

Worked as a Leader approved by WML. Started ML but Job in Outdoors came to an end.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;

I am a Male Walker, in my late 70s, based near Fleetwood hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I'm David, single, 79 and retired (summer '12), I live in beautiful Fylde, having moved from my native Manchester, and would like to meet singles or a group to make walking more pleasurable. I'm not that experienced a walker so may have to be gradually more adventurous in my excursions, having said that my last job was very active so I need more than a gentle stroll to the pub. An active stroll to the pub, then, or a tea shop or whatever. My map reading skills are reasonable, I think, and I have a good sense of direction. Anybody reasonably local who would like to join forces with me, please get in touch. Dog owners welcome, though cats preferred!

I also like to go further afield like the Lakes or anywhere in the UK really or even abroad. I've done the Three Peaks in the Dales and I'm happy to do walks up to 27 miles but also much shorter ones. If there's an opportunity to have a drink after a walk I won't say no. :o)

I've recently moved to the Malvern Hills area (Worcestershire) where there are many interesting walks over hills, through woods and along rivers so do come along and visit! I enjoy all kinds of walking, from low level meandering along a wooded valley to scrambling in the Lake District. I also enjoy camping, in the right weather (!), and cycling. I am a Male Walker, in my mid 70s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live around an hour's drive from the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on mountains, hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales, anywhere outdoors. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there and around me, not to race to the end. What would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and perhaps an after walk refreshments or meal. I'm mid 70's but am fit and am younger in appearance and character. I can get along with most people of all ages. I generally like to walk between 5-12 miles, I'm very chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. I can read a map too. I drive and don't see anywhere on the mainland as too far. My other interests are landscape photography, art, city and country breaks and the theatre to mention a few but always happy to try something new. Regards. Chris

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near North Devon hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am looking to meet people to walk with mainly on Exmoor and Dartmoor but I would also be keen to visit other areas. I have done over 80 Munros including all of the ones on The Cullin but haven't been that way for a while and am a bit less fit now! I enjoy relaxed company (not a route march) to take in the surroundings with interesting happy people. I don't take myself too seriously and am up for new experiences and challenges. It is good to stop off at the odd pub however tea rooms seem to appeal more however tea rooms tend not to have roaring fires so I struggle to decide!

I have three very friendly but bouncy dogs who I walk with but conversation is very limited! I struggle to find folk who want to go for long rambles over the moor but I just love being up there.

I am work part time so am often available weekdays and weekends.

Please get in touch if you want relaxed, friendly company for a walk but please do remember that I have got three dogs so it would be good if you are a dog lover!

My Message: Hello to everyone. In my late 60s, I am inclined to sit on a comfortable rock and watch the world go by. During a walk on a nice day. I am a Female Walker, in my early 70s, based near North Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I enjoy walking in the hills and wild places. I'm easy going and have a soh - semi-retired so can walk in the week as well as at week-ends. I usually walk with groups, friends or alone to practice navigation (which I am reasonable at). I am a reasonably fit 'plodder' and hillwalking is my main interest - but its always better to share adventures with likeminded others. I moved to the Yorkshire dales eight years ago and am enjoying having some great walking on the doorstep. I'm seeking walking buddies who are interested in doing long distance paths eg. South west coast path and/or hillwalking in the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, Northumberland or Scotland. I'm used to driving to walk locations.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Preston hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, my name is Ray and I'm a fit and active 65yr old male living near Preston. I'm a very keen walker and will go anywhere within 100 miles for day walks or anywhere in the UK for weekends away/short breaks. I'm hoping to meet a lady between the ages of 45-65 for friendship initially and if the chemistry is right between us then hopefully we can become more than good friends. I'm looking for someone who enjoys walking and a good chat and a laugh and maybe have a drink/evening meal at a nice country pub/restaurant afterwards. My other hobby is playing golf and I'm a member of Fairhaven golf club near Lytham. As I'm retired, I'm free to go walking at anytime. Almost 3 years ago I set myself a challenge to go walking in every county in England, Scotland, Wales and several islands dotted around the UK. So far I've done 44 out of 94 and hope to do quite a lot more this year. Last year I had holidays in Tuscany and Lake Garda which were very enjoyable. If you are interested, why not get in touch and we can chat with a view to meeting up.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Bakewell hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Currently test driving my new hip (installed in September '25) so less time trials and peak bagging for now. Hence, seeking a co-driver/navigator for 5-10 mile hikes to start with, with a view to more challenging outings in due course.

Based in the Peak District, separated, centre-left, pragmatic and omnivorous. With a background in marine sciences, I've lived and worked around the world. Hence I used to ski, climb and hike in the Alps and Cascades. These days I just hike, mainly in the Peak District and Snowdonia but would like to go further afield both in the UK (including coastal paths) and abroad. Would also love to get back on skis, a boat and maybe even a horse! A good pub at the end of the day is always welcome!
