David Higginbottom bagged Sca Fell on November 15th, 2018 [with] Carolyn [weather] Good

Geoff Hand hiked Sca Fell on May 12th, 2023 [from/via/route] Recce of the Second half of Bob Graham Round leg 3. Set out from the NT Carpark at Wasdale Head. Went up Lingmell Beck to Sty Head then Esk Hause from there we went to 1great End, Ill Crag, Broad Crag. from there onto Scafell Pike, the down to Broad S & round to Foxes Tarn & Up Scafell. Then straight down to Wasdale Head [with] Ran Mackay, Alfi and Tess. [weather] Started cloudy & cleared into a beautiful sunny afternoon - It was the toughest day out in the fells I've had to date.

John Tippins summited Sca Fell on May 5th, 2023 [from/via/route] From Eskdale to Wasdale [with] Alone [weather] Warm & sunny in the valley, intermittent sun throughout the day.

Richard Beardsley conquered Sca Fell on June 2nd, 2022 [from/via/route] Used route C233. [with] Myself, Paula, Andy and Dylan. [weather] Nice fine day with some cloud but not too hot. - Parked at the NT car park, (probably got one of the last spaces) & commenced hiking at 0920hrs. Followed the crowd up towards Scafell Pike but veered off left to summit Lingmell first. Rejoined main path & summited Scafell Pike. After our sandwiches it was off west, descending rocky ground, to roughly follow the suggested route. Eventually summited Sca Fell. Then it was the 5km downward slog back to the car park arriving there at 1710hrs. Total time taken - 7hrs 40mins. Shattered but thoroughly enjoyable.

Kevin Foster scaled Sca Fell on May 19th, 2022 [from/via/route] National Trust car park, Brackenclose, Wasdale Head. [with] By myself. [weather] Early cloud on Scafells lifting by midday then sunny. - Dropping down the screes on the Eskdale side of Mickledore I found the rocky gully leading up to Foxes Tarn. I saw a climber doing Broad Stand earlier whilst having my lunch but on close inspection I didn't fancy it so I took the Foxes Tarn route which apart from all the height I had to give up I must say I enjoyed. I didn't reach the summit until 05:30pm so I had the summit of England's second highest mountain all to myself! Scafell Pike blocks out a large portion of the view towards the north but the views south & west towards the Irish Sea were superlative.

Andrew Johnson walked up Sca Fell on July 1st, 2021 [from/via/route] Wasdale [weather] Fair weather

Climbed again on a wonderful day via Lord's Rake & the West Wall Traverse with Hayley Webb on 19.07.2021 This was definitely the best route up. [with] On my own both times. [weather] Humid & cloudy for my first climb & clear & sunny for my second. - On my first visit I met a chap who was very disoriented after a fall on Lord's Rake. I was able to lead him safely down to Wasdale & back to his campsite.

Clare Tait summited Sca Fell on August 10th, 2021 [from/via/route] From pull in near Wha House Farm car park. Car park was full. [with] Charlie [weather] Dry & bright in the valleys; sadly cloud on the higher summits. - No. 73 Wainwright. Found this extremely hard. Took the route described as ' the easiest' through bog & over multiple streams. Slight Side had a horrible steep path of loose dirt & scree. Sca Fell itself looked huge & forbidding. More zigzag paths of scree. The top was covered in low cloud & there was no view over to Sca Fell Pike. Returned the same way although went wrong & stayed too high at the base of Slight Side. Glad it's done. Won't return.

Wayne Baxter conquered Sca Fell on July 14th, 2021 [from/via/route] From Wha House farm car park (opposite the farm). Walked up to cats crag onto Slight Side. Onto Long Green leading to Sca Fell. Return same route. [with] Sue [weather] Cloudy with the odd sunny spell

Sunny all day - Underestimated how exhausting the walk. Age & reduced fitness taking its toll. We watched Fell runner climbed Lords Rake in 3 minutes ! Met up with Kiwi shepherds & continued walking & spent the following day with them. Ran out of steam & time to add on Lingmell. Very late for booked meal at Wasdale, but they kindly served us.

Andy Buxton hiked Sca Fell during August, 1968 [from/via/route] Corridor Route to Scafell Pike thenLOrd's Rake & West Wall Traverse. Descent vis Lord's Rake [with] Dad [weather] Misty - Lord's Rake a bloody loose thrutch. Also with Ian Wright in June 1980 plus other times

Lovely with a breeze. Cooking without. - Path disappeared after about an hour on the way up to Slight Side at Whinscales & it's pretty boggy in most if the way, however, treading a lesser used path has its advantages being I saw no one until I neared Scafell! Didn't enjoy the scree descent down from Scafell & the boggy return, although the path was better here.

Richard Marchant hiked Sca Fell on November 23rd, 1993 [from/via/route] This was a two day trip with an overnight camp at Beckhead Tarn below Great Gable. Day 1 we ascended Yewbarrow then onto Red Pike-Scoat Fell-Pillar-Kirk Fell & descended to Beckhead Tarn & camped the night & what a cold night. Then along the ridge down to Slight Side & then across the moor back down to Boot via Stony Tarn & Eel Tarn & the wonderfully named Peelplace Doddle. [with] Flash [weather] Hot & sunny for ascent. Cloudy & breezy on top of Scafell. Sunny patches through the afternoon. - Flash's first Lake District Walk - and, boy, was he tired afterwards. A delightful climb from Boot on the Old Coffin Road to Wasdale Head & then a springy moorland stroll to Burnmoor Tarn. Good thing it was dry, making crossing the bog to Long Gill quite easy. A steep slog over grass & then scree to the top. Only a dozen others on an August Bank Holiday Saturday. Lunch then an easy stroll above Cam Spout & Tom Fox's Crag to Slight Side. A steep descent from there to the moor below & a faint path back to Boot as noted above. Got slightly lost at the very end & followed a poor path above the in-bye wall back to Boot. Flash found a stick on top of Scafell - somehow. Delighted! He found the scree hard work but coped well with boulders on top. A great day.
