Path up bridleway from Ravenstone Hotel was steep & challenging - maybe difficult after rain. Steep climb all the way to Ullock Pike. Awesome views & then easy progress across ridge to Carl Side. Path down to White Stones steep & tricky. Descent to Dodd from Cairn also technical. Climb through forest up to Dodd Memorial delightful. Against AW advice descended on a path which was on OS Map through wood to rejoin summit path. Meander through Rabbit Warren back to Hotel. Pint of Corby Blonde.

Back down to White Stones & across to Dodd. Returned down the forestry track in Longside Wood. [with] Jen [weather] Clear blue sky day, cold (-1) but with light winds. - Does Longside Edge really qualify as a Wainwright?

Did not proceed to point 2 on the suggested route but instead took short cut as shown on the diagram. Rest of the route was followed rigidly. Arrived back at the hotel at 1320hrs. Thoroughly enjoyable day. Other walkers present also making the most of the weather.
