Sarah Moore climbed it on January 1st, 2026 [from/via/route] Just an up & down for New Years Day sunrise. Hadn't realised how easy the route was - up the road & then a path straight to the top. Great little walk. [with] Moi. Nice to see a few people at the top and share the sunrise. [weather] Great winter conditions. Cold at the top & didn't hang around but relatively clear. Didn't get the incredible colours but thats ok. - Not done 3 days in a row before & legs feeling it, but loved it. Just great to whizz out & nail another Wainwright before heading home.

Richard Fulcher climbed it on March 7th, 2023 [from/via/route] Parked near the church in Troutbeck & followed the path at the back of the church up to the village near Margaret's Well. We then took Nanny Lane up the hillside to Baystones (Wansfell) before traversing across the ridge to Wansfell Pike. We then followed the path down to join with Nanny Lane & back to the village. Had a pint of Wainwright's & Jen had 1/2 a pint of lager (£10 !!). This was a leisurely tramp with several stops for coffee & food. [with] Jen [weather] Cold, slight breeze gusting at times but very bright & sunny. - Next time I'd try the route through Skelgyll woods via the Aquaduct observatory.

I had mistaken Wansfell Pike for the Wansfell (Bystones) summit all this time, but thanks to Wainwright, I have been corrected in my misconception.
