In-use Test:
The Result Performance Kenora is certainly a fine warm jacket that I've worn on a number of low level winter walking trips. It certainly feels very substantial and did keep out the wind and rain throughout some quite miserable winter days. There is a good high collar which has a warm, fleecy lining. The hood fastens well to provide pretty good face protection - however I found I needed some additional warmth provided by a hat as the hood material is quite thin.
There is a good selection of pockets including a good map-sized one on the interior; its location, though, meant that I had to open the jacket to get at the map which isn't ideal. There is also another inner pocket which closes with velcro rather than a zip which I would much prefer. (There is also another large zip on the interior which seems to give access to the whole of the interior. I soon discovered that dropping items into this was not a good idea as it really quite difficult to retrieve them.)
The internal complement of pockets is completed by a mobile phone pocket (large enough for an iphone) plus a handy pocket for a pen/pencil. The two outer, zipped pockets were handy for gloves or gps/camera.
I was testing this during some really quite cold weather - I thought the breathability of the fabric was quite acceptable. There are pit zips which provide an option for ventilation during higher energy periods.
The fit was good and true to size.
The Result Performance Kenora is a fine, good value option for low level walking in cold weather/winter use for or more general, winter leisure wear.
It is too heavy and bulky for high mountain walking - there are much lighter options available that will provide the same/greater technical performance albeit at a higher price.
