In-use Test:
The Regatta Diffuse waterproof jacket was tested by our young female tester - in a variety of wet Autumn weather.
It fitted well - she is 5 feet tall and was wearing the size 9-10.
The Diffuse kept her warm and dry throughout all her trips out - there was no leakage around the zip and the peaked hood worked well in keeping the rain off her face.
The pockets were all a good size - the front zipped chest pocket in particular proved to be very useful.
On a more stylistic note, the inside of the jacket does feature a row of decorative dragonflies which was felt to be fine in a girl's jacket but may not be very appealing to a boy.
The Regatta Diffuse waterproof jacket certainly provided great protection in some really quite heavy rain. Some may consider £40 a tad expensive, but this may be a worthwhile investment if your child does a lot of walking or is interested in other outdoor acitivities and needs a really reliable waterproof jacket.
