In-use Test:
The Kathmandu Merino Trail are a single layer, short length walking sock. We found that both the men's and women's versions fitted well and showed no sign of slipping.
Crucially they also wicked moisture away from the foot very well. I was initially a little concerned that these socks would be too thin for use in my walking boots - however, my feet were really comfortable throughout a long day's walking. I have been prone to blisters in the past - there has certainly been no sign with the Merino Trail socks.
So far they have washed easily and are wearing well.
The Kathmandu Merino Trail area very comfortable hiking socks that are best for use with a lower cut walking boot/approach shoe and therefore lower level walking. You'll need socks with a little more insulation for colder/winter mountain walking. The women specific fit is a big plus (for women obviously!)
