Mertex
Q. Hi all, love the web site.
Not done a lot of walking but planning to do a lot this year. I have got a pair of new boots with mer-tex. The man in the shop told me its the same as gur-tex (Gor-Tex®).
Is this true or have I been had?

A. I can't seem to find much information about Mer-tex® other than it is a water resistant lining used in the manufacture of some walking shoes but is more commonly used as a lining for products requiring some degree of fire resistance.
Perhaps if anybody else knows more about Mer-tex (or Mertex) they would be kind enough to contact us.
Hope this helps

A. It is not like GoreTex. More like Sympatex. Used by Lomer.
