Grid Reference help with Etrex 10

Q. Hello all. I'm trying to put coordinates into my Etrex 10 for places around Lough Erne. However the references don't seem to match? For example I'm trying to locate Crom Estate with a grid reference of GR H370 238 1. I've changed position format to British Grid. 2. Map Datum shows Ord Srvy GB 3. I enter the Go To setting and the display reads: Enter Location SA 50741 BNG 89382 4. I can change these but not to the Grid Reference I need? Top line only gives me two letters to change and 5 numbers whereas my coordinates require 3 letters and 6 numbers? Sorry for a newbie question, hope you can help 🙂

A. Lough Erne is a lake located Fermanagh district, formerly County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. While the North of Ireland (aka Northern Ireland) remains part of Great Britain and the United Kingdom, for the purposes of finding a grid reference it comes under the Irish co-ordinate system.

Therefore, to enter a grid reference for Lough Erne on your Garmin Etrex 10 you must change your position format from British Grid to Position Format: Irish (IG)
