[weather] Slightly overcast but sun broke through eventually. Warm pleasant day. - Route from Ashness Bridge was straight forward. Started from the right side of the Bark House mountain hut, (public footpath signpost just visible). Followed the path quite easily & where it meets the gill turned right onto an old but well made stone pitched path that climbs steeply up the fellside to the Dodd. The summit trig point of High Seat eventually comes into view. Having summited High Seat the recently made stone path to High Tove is easily located & leads directly to its top. Armboth Fell was next & again that was easily sighted from High Tove. A direct route was taken over comfortable ground which could be quite boggy in wet weather. After Armboth I returned to High Tove passed through the gate & descended along the track to Watendlath. It was then a 5 mile walk along the road to Keswick & catch the bus to Carlisle. I arrived home at 1500hrs. A thoroughly enjoyable day.
