Neil Bennett walked up Raven Crag (Thirlmere) on August 3rd, 2024 [from/via/route] Parked on the A591 opposite the start of the dam road. After crossing the dam we started our ascent through the woods just after the small parking area. Joined the forest track & left this to visit The Benn for some excellent views. Returned to the track & made our way over to Raven Crag. [with] Pam Bennett, Oliver Bennett, Thomas Bennett. [weather] Dry with sunny intervals.

My right leg vanished into a bog at one point, much to the amusement of the kids. Descent from Raven crag is steep, & generally the main part of the walk was hard to navigate with limited pathways (I assume partly based on the extent of rain recently)

Climbed again on 03.12.2022 from the dam road. This route is very steep but the views made the climb worth it.
