Melfyn Parry walked up Glasgwm on July 19th, 2024 [from/via/route] Followed go4awalk route GW149 - from the car park at the top of Cwm Cywarch. The walk up to the Bwlch is a steady pull up, but remember to turn around every now & then as the views are amazing. Once you reach the stile at the corner of the fence by the small pool the path follows the fence pretty much to the summit of Glasgwm. The beehive cairn on the summit is a decent size & again the views over towards Aran Fawddwy are spectacular. The walk to the next top is quite easy, the path is clear with some boggy bits to navigate. Once on the top of the grassy hill of Pen Y Brynfforchog you are looking down at the Mac loop so listen out for the fast jets on training exercise. The walk notes (6 to 9) suggest you head back to the forest edge to pick up a path which eventually joins the forest track, this is no longer deforested & is quite hard work, best to walk down the grassy path & around the forest to reach SH823282 then you are much closer to the end of the forest track which is easy walking on to reach point A on the notes, from here the notes are good. The zig zag path is quite steep & is punishing on the knees & thighs. [with] On my own [weather] Warm sunny spells & dry. Excellent visibility. - As mentioned above, plot a route to avoid walking through the forested areas
