Melfyn Parry walked up Aran Fawddwy on September 24th, 2026 [from/via/route] Followed the directions on walk GW185. The route was straightforward to follow but two of the tops were not the easiest to spot, namely Waun Camddwr & Gwaen Lydan without my trusty GPS OS App it would have been difficult to know that I was actually on the tops. We didn't see the cairn on Gwaen Lydan until we were within 10m of it, the small stone cairn hidden in the tall heather & grass. However, a beautiful day out, a long & tough walk. [with] DS, LD and myself [weather] Dry & very warm day with some welcome breezes. - A popular ridge, many other walker in the area having walked from different points. We didn't see anyone on the way up from Cwm Cywarch & once we departed the ridge to head towards Gwaen Lydan & Pen yr Allt Uchaf we only saw one other person.
