Dartmoor National Park is located in South West England, wholly within the county of Devon.
The stunning views, deep wooded valleys with fast flowing rivers, rugged, wide open spaces and numerous prehistoric standing stones, stone circles, kistvaens, cairns and stone rows provide a superb place to walk and hike.
The principal settlements are Ashburton, Buckfastleigh, Moretonhampstead, Princetown, Yelverton, Horrabridge, South Brent, Christow, and Chagford.
Wild Camping is generally legal on Dartmoor with lightweight tents you can carry in a backpack. There are restrictions on where you can and can't camp and some basic rules to follow.
