Around Yorkshire
Q. Hi Can you please tell me how far it is around the borders of Yorkshire. Many thanks Andy
Andy Stockdale, Bridlington
A. I think someone claimed in the Dalesman or Yorkshire Post to have perambulated the old boundaries of Yorkshire - a mileage of approx 500 was claimed. I suppose it depends to the extent you cut corners where there's no right of way /right to roam on the boundary

A. From the OS Boundary Line data, I calculate the perimeter of the historic county of Yorkshire as 685 miles.
