Walking Guide Training And Registered Database Of Guides To Hire
Q. I'm a Coach who is going to be taking clients out of the traditional office environment into the great outdoors to get fitter and healthier through walking.
Walks planned for example include South Downs Way, Hadrian's Wall and various pilgrimages across Europe e.g. Santiago Way and so on. So i don't need anything too strenuous like mountaineering / night time hiking etc. It's a case of walking a small group of stressed out execs and overweight people who all want to get healthier and be coached about their issues on route.
So, i have two options; pay a guide for their local / historical knowledge and expertise as a guide (1st aid etc.) or, i could become qualified as a walking leader / 1st aider myself.
I'm wondering, what would be a good course for me that offers a UK and or European recognised certification? As a Holistic Practitioner, I've already studied physiology, anatomy, nutrition etc. which may help with any entry level requirements, what else do i need to consider please?
If i go down the hiring a local guide route, is there a registered database?
Any support / information at this stage would be much appreciated.
