Blencathra With Kids
Q. Hi what's the best route to take up Blencathra with kids? I've a 2yr old who will be in a backpack carrier and a very keen 10yr old scout who's quite into hiking. Thanks :)

A. Blencathra or Saddleback (Hallsfell Top) is a 868m (2849ft) high mountain in the Northern Fells area of the Lake District. In my humble opinion it is no place for a two year old child.
