Crossing The River Lune north of Kirkby Lonsdale
Q. There are several crossings marked on the maps north of Kirkby Lonsdale but no footbridges shown. Are these 'Fords ' or 'Stepping Stones' crossable all year round?

A. Not sure which 'crossings' you mean - but have a look at the area on Google Maps in 'Satellite' view. You can see whether there is a footbridge or stepping stones in your chosen location. Most crossings I can see marked on the OS Map show neither however so are either non-existent or fords, which makes crossing the river in winter or after heavy rain problematic.
