Walking the Cape Wrath Trail - What Fuel/Stove To Take?
Q. Hi, has anyone got advice on what kind of stove to take? I normally use a gas pocket rocket, but am worried that I won't be able to buy enough gas on the way., without carrying loads of gas bottles.
Should I consider using a meths stove? I noticed some people have posted supplies ahead on there route anyone have any experiences of this?
Cheers

A. I've used Propane/butane gas stove in the past, but have now changed to an American Coleman petrol type. Although they are a bit heavier than the gas units they are very compact & very rugged in design - certainly a bullet proof unit & quite economical too.

A. Have you tried a 'Kelly Kettle'? These things will burn any twigs etc that you can find on the way, and even if you can only find damp materials, then you can take a small tin of 'Maya dust'.
