Where can I get Winter Walking Experience?
Q. I am a fit 24 year old with various walking experiences, but only limited winter/glacier walking in New Zealand. Where in the UK would you recommend gaining valuable winter walking experience (at an introductory/moderate level), as a means to being able to tackle the major summits next winter?
Also, what are the main experiences I should be seeking in order to feel prepared for next winter?
Thanks for the valuable advice.

A. The are plenty of places that run Winter Walking Skills courses - try The National Mountain Centre at Plas y Brenin in Snowdonia, North Wales for starters.
Amongst other things, make sure you do a course that covers Ice Axe Self Arrest
Hope this helps
