Walking The Cape Wrath Trail
Q. I'm thinking of doing the Cape Wrath Trail next year (2010) and would like some advice (possibly psychiatric) on the best time of the year to do it. April seems favourite at the moment . . . but . . . when is the latest I can leave it before the midges become an issue???
Peter James, Southampton
A. The Cape Wrath Trail is a 330km (205 miles) linear footpath connecting Cape Wrath, Highland, Scotland with Banavie (Fort William) in Highland, Scotland.
It is is considered to be one of the most challenging long distance walks in the UK.
Hope this helps

A. They shouldn't be a problem till June/July. August can be awful, and you get Clegs (Horse-Flies) then too . . .
Tom Cole, Edinburgh
