Memory Map Backtrack Feature Vs. Waypoints
Q. I will be walking Offa's Dyke Path this summer. On my GPS, a Garmin etrex, I have the ODP Memory Map Backtrack, but the GPS does not interface with any device on which the actual map can be installed, I am concerned about the reliability of the backtracking feature alone. I walked the coast to coast two summers ago using way points and that worked very well. (I am unable find the equivalent for ODP.) Being in the U.S., I cannot "rehearse" the backtrack feature, and I have not found any anecdotal or review information on line. Since I am walking alone, GPS support is a necessary reassurance. Can you help?
