Aircraft Wrecks
Q. Are there any walks on this site that take you around the aircraft wrecks in the Peak District
Keith Faunch
A. Certainly. There are remains of an aircraft on Mill Hill near Hayfield
See Walks:
Incidentally, you'll also find the undercarriage of Halifax bomber of R.C.A.F. which crashed in 1944 on Great Carrs in the Lake District - see Walks:
- The Fox Memorial to a crashed aircraft on Buckden Pike in The Yorkshire Dales - See Walks:
- and another memorial at Carn Pica on the way up to Waun Rydd in the Brecon Beacons - See Walks:
Perhaps this is a theme we should develop further.
