Torrential downpours visible from the summit but we managed to avoid them! - The route is a bit of an ankle breaker & my 4 year old son fell over on the rocky ground several times. [with] Angela Howarth, Matilda Howarth, Archie Howarth (carried). [weather] Pleasant to start with, but turned half way up with heavy hail (like snow on the ground) as we were on our descent. - Path along ridge treacherous - especially if carrying child in carrier & unable to clearly see one's own feet! Not one to attempt with young children who may need carrying - even for a confident walker with good boots!
