[weather] Gorgeous August day, after some dreadful weather the days before! - Tough 14.5 mile walk - 3600ft of ascent! Brilliant effort by 14 yr old Tilly!

Christine Shepherd bagged Kentmere Pike on March 15th, 2009 [from/via/route] I walked from Stockdale using walk c204 'The Longsleddale Horizon' [with] On my own [weather] Dry but rather overcast. - Climbed again using the same route in similar conditions on 16.7.20 Summitted Kentmere Pike again on 6.3.22 as part of The Kentmere Skyline. Finally did walk c204 in sunshine on 24.5.23 Such much easier when you can see the paths & the ground is dry.

Richard Fulcher hiked Kentmere Pike on April 18th, 2023 [from/via/route] No parking spaces in Kentmere! Parked off road (almost in a ditch, next to farm track). Set off up to the Garburn Pass, turning right at Garburn Nook & then walked up to Yoke. From Yoke we walked around the Kentmere Horseshoe & completed Ill Bell, Froswick, Mardale Ill Bell, Kentmere Pike & Shipman Knotts. We descended via an old shepherds path passing 3 derelict buildings (shepherds huts?) & then walked along the roads back to the car. 12.14 miles. [with] Jen [weather] Sunny, blue skies, very windy in exposed places.. gusts of 30 to 40 mph. Visibility was okay but hazy. - Tiring because of the distance & total ascent of 3,500 feet.

From here I walked across to Banstree then down & up on to Harter Fell. Ridged walked around to Kentmere Pike down to Shipman Knott & eventually back to the car. [with] On my own [weather] Dry Day with Hazy views early doors but did become sunny & clear in the afternoon

Walked around Shipman Knott, Kentmere Pike, Harter Fell sat at Adam Seat then on to Branstree, Tarn Crag & Grey Crag. [with] Vitor [weather] Lovely day, very sunny. Vitor got burnt! My hands got burnt - A fantastic 7hr walk. The first half was a lovely stony clear path. After Haweswater the path disappeared & we had to venture across a bog.

Needed to apply sun tan lotion twice!

[with] Margaret and Ralph [weather] Bright & clear & sunny with some gusty winds on the tops. - Number 151 completed (Our first Wainwright outing since the weekend before lockdown for the coronavirus pandemic started) we left the fell via the Hallow Bank descent before driving back to the North East still unable to stay overnight in our caravan.

Very warm when the sun was out. - The final third of the Kentmere round, after Harter Fell, has always felt a lot gentler than the first two thirds mainly because it's largely down hill & over grass. Kentmere pike is an easy short ascent from the col & is another great view point to look back at the rest of the Kentmere horseshoe.

By the end of the day we had full sun. - Slight mistake on my part meant we climbed from Kentmire itself rather than up near Hallow Bank! Path up was very indistinct near the wall referred to by Wainwright. Otherwise an OK day on the fells.
