Rich Jenkins climbed Waun Rydd on January 1st, 2022 [from/via/route] Blaen-y-Glyn Forestry car park. [weather] Low cloud & strong westerly wind on ascent & on ridge. - Wet underfoot & water running off slopes. Lovely route along escarpment edge. Little ascent after initial climb.
Sion Britton bagged Waun Rydd on April 17th, 2021 [with] Solo [weather] Braf
Iwan Williams hiked Waun Rydd on August 13th, 2019 [from/via/route] Talybont Reservoir
Marcelle Allman summited Waun Rydd on October 27th, 2019 [from/via/route] Corn Du, Horseshoe walk, however it was so lovely & we made good time so added on traversing the valley & walking back along the opposite ridgeline. [with] Dave Raime [weather] Glorious sunshine 12 degrees - My first visit to the Brecon Beacons.
Kimberley Gratton conquered Waun Rydd on July 23rd, 2019 [from/via/route] I started off from Talybont Reservoir, going up NW on a signed track all the way to Allt Lwyd (this was VERY steep!) From there I went via the Cam Pica stone built beacon towards Waun Rydd, & then Gwaun Cerrig Lwydion. Finally heading to Bryn (Waun Rydd) & down back to Talybont Reservoir. [weather] Hot & Sunny - The path from Bryn back to Talybont Reservoir wasn't clear & not as pleasant as the rest of the walk. I would suggest going back the way you came.
Christina Lander scaled Waun Rydd on April 15th, 2014 [from/via/route] Talybont upper car park - Craig y Fan Ddu - Bomber crash site - Waun Rydd - Talybont Reservoir (east side) - back to car park [with] Dick & Suzanne [weather] Warm & sunny - A very long, tiring day
Robert Taylor-Marriott walked up Waun Rydd on December 5th, 2012 [from/via/route] Route 46: Track Bwlch y Ddwyallt, Waun Rydd & Allt Lwyd (BWA) [with] Vince Wetton and Robert Taylor-Marriott [weather] Sunny, cold & snow.
Tim Buckley climbed Waun Rydd on November 17th, 2013 [from/via/route] From car park on the road from the Talybont Res. via Craig y Fan Ddu, Craig Fan-las turn right at the junction of paths & across the peat bogs! [with] Lynne [weather] Horrible, dense hill fog, visibility 100ft, 5 degrees, 20mph winds & severe wind chill at Craig fan-las. It was drizzling too!! - You know when you're an obsessed peak bagger when you come out in these conditions to knock off a hill. Met two separate groups of three walkers who where intent on the world war two crash site. One group finding it difficult to navigate in the fog - their plan was to descend over Cwar y Gigfran (brave).
Vince Wetton bagged Waun Rydd on December 5th, 2012 [from/via/route] Allt Lwyd & Bwich y Ddwyallt [with] RTM [weather] Bright & Sunny, Bitter Cold
