Can I take may dog on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk
Q. Hi,
I have never done the Yorkshire 3 Peaks before. I will be doing it in July and have a 18 month Cocker Spaniel that i was hoping to take with me. Could anyone please advise me if the walk is suitable for dogs? ? I have been told that part of it may involve climbing, which i why i am asking the question.
Thanks Louise

A. Hi Louise,l too have never done the 3 peak Yorkshire Challenge and want to walk it with my 10yr cocker spaniel next year in April or May.She is reasonably fit and not overweight to do it.l think July could be too hot for most dogs and you will have to consider carrying your water as well as his. I personally wouldn't bring a dog of 18months age as their joints could still be developing.Maybe speak to your vet and see what he thinks?lf you do take him, May l recommend you buying Mushers paw wax for your dog? It will protect their pads on rough terrain. Good luck with the Challenge and please let me know how it turns out.
