Heel Blisters - Severe
Q. I have recently purchased some new walking boots and whilst one of them is very comfortable, the other is giving me severe blisters on my heel. I have tried putting compeed etc on the heel before walking but the blister develops even through that. I have also tried wearing an additional pair of socks but whilst this seems to help with the heel, it then makes the boots to tight across the toes. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

A. I tried various anti-blister strategies when training for Trailwalker [for Oxfam] last year. I found gaffer tape on my heals prevented blisters. It sounds a bit drastic but as the feet sweat anyway, the tape lifts off at the end of a walk quite easily.
