Extra Wide Fitting Walking and Hiking Boots
Q. Need some advice on where to buy extra wide fitting walking and hiking boots. I normally wear "H" width fitting shoes (as described by Clarks). But they do not stock boots in "H" width. What brands, model details, etc?
Ash ,
A. Well, if you can get them, the best fitting boots I've found are New Balance. I take a 6E. However they sell out fast.

A. I have this same problem and have spent hundreds of pounds on 'badly fitting' boots. Today I have spent the whole day driving around various independent shops in the Bristol area and not one supplies anything other than 'standard' width boots! I have to say that the service I (didn't get) was absolutely shocking! I had a hip replacement a couple of years ago and have arthritis in my ankles now so properly fitted boots really are required so I can continue walking and enjoying my wildlife photography. Please please please can someone help with this as all I want is a pair of boots that fit! And/or a shop in the Bristol area that may actually be able to help (and care!!!)? Thanks Higgy

A. Altburg can measure your feet and make boots to fit. Their standard boots have 5 width fittings and their shop and factory is based in Richmond, North Yorks

A. I have the very same issue and last week bought some Alt-Berg boots in the extra-wide fitting at Joe Brown's in Llanberis (also bought some Super feet insoles to support my flat arches!) - they fit beautifully, I'm just breaking them in! Go to a really good independent outdoors shop and ask about wide fitting boots as they should be able to provide advice.

A. I needed wider boots and got them from George Fisher in Keswick. An excellent shop giving excellent fitting service.
