Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge Walk Timings
Q. About 13 of us are attempting the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge on Sunday to celebrate one of our colleagues' 50th birthday. I have downloaded the plans but I wondered if anyone could advise us of approximate timings for each peak so that we have a good idea of whether we are on track. My leg only came out of a cast last week and I don't want to hold anyone up!

A. Our route guide Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge walk from Horton in Ribblesdale via Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough now includes section timings so you will know whether or not you are on schedule to complete the walk within the required 12 hours.
These timing do take account of the fact that going up hill is slower than going down. Obviously as the day wears on you will get tired and a bit slower so you should aim to be ahead of these timings in the early stages.
Hope this helps
